Betty Jane Petzold, 93, of South Bend, passed away on January 1, 2017 at Brookdale of Carmel in Carmel, IN, with her granddaughter, Holly, by her side. She was born on January 11, 1923 in Elkhart to Alton and Hulda Downs.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Cindy Madden; grandchildren, Holly Madden, Shannon Wiebold, Michelle Lawson, Mike Lawson, and Mark Lawson; and several great children. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; children, Al Lawson, Michael Petzold, and Cathy Wiebold; siblings, Helen DeHart and Robert Downs.
Betty will be laid to rest at a private graveside service at Highland Cemetery in South Bend.
